Inside Cheerleading blog post

From Griffin Myers blog at Inside Cheerleading

Now let’s fast-forward to College Nationals. If you haven’t already heard, 3 out of our four teams (including the Ladybirds dance team) won! After losing last year, our small coed took their title back and our large coed continued our winning streak making this 7 in a row. No other division 1A team at NCA college nationals has ever done this before. We honestly didn’t think we were going to after pre-lims because we were in second. We had a few mistakes though and Oklahoma State hit a pretty solid routine. That night, and even the morning of finals, we made a few changes. We added two new baskets, more tumbling, and few more motions to max out the score sheet. I know that sounds crazy to change a routine that much from pre-lims to finals, but its something we have all become accustomed to while cheering at U of L. Since we were going into finals in second place, we performed second to last in our division right before OSU and we hit a nearly flawless routine! We knew we had done it again! The rest of the day was full of celebration and hanging out with friends and family on the beach. But, all good things have to come to an end. It is always sad leaving Daytona and saying bye to your friends who you probably won’t see again until next year.
