VARSITY CELEBRATES 15 YEARS OF CHAMPIONSHIPS AT WALT DISNEY WORLD® RESORT

[USPRwire, Fri Jun 05 2009] The 2009 season marks the 15th year that the Universal Cheerleaders Association (UCA) and the Universal Dance Association (UDA) have held their National Championships at the Walt Disney World® Resort.

Between them, the Universal Cheerleaders Association and the Universal Dance Association host four premier, large events, bringing a total of 12,000 cheerleading and dance teams to the event venues, including Disney’s Wide World of Sports® Complex and the Indiana Jones Theater at Disney’s Hollywood Studio.

Sebring High Cheerleaders Are 9th In Prestigious National Contest.

SEBRING – The Sebring High School Varsity Co-Ed cheerleaders advanced to the final round of the National High School CheerleadingChampionship, the most prestigious cheerleading contest in the country. They placed ninth in the nation, against 17 other top squadsfrom across the country.

The NHSCC is held at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, and nationally televised on ESPN and ESPN2 to more than 100 million homes and 32 countries nationwide each year.

It’s back-to-back state championships for Carlson cheerleaders

via The News Herald: Breaking news coverage for Southgate, MI.

The Carlson cheerleading team capped a great season with a second straight Michigan High School Athletic Associa-tion Division 2 state championship in Grand Rapids Saturday.

The Marauders domi-nated the Division 2 com-petition, winning each of the three rounds and scor-ing 807.1184 points.

Carlson’s point total was the second highest in the state finals regardless of division. Only Division 1 Rochester (811.2480) scored higher.

We will be hosting the Purple & Gold National Cheer & Dance Championships in Baton Rouge, La. at the RiverCenter on March 7-8, 2009 and the National Challenge Cheer & Dance Championships in Athens, Ga. at the Classic Center on March 14-15, 2009.

The competitions are both open to all teams  All Star, school and youth league  with no qualification required. We will also offer individual, duet, and trio competitions for both cheer and dance.

Three cheers for the cheerleaders

More than 240 cheerleaders from 17 schools participated in the North Dakota Cheer Coaches Association Championships. The competition included three phases. The first was a 2½ minute drill with a limit of 1½ minutes of music. Second was the stunt group where teams of five or less make as many throws and catches as they can in a minute. An individual jump off challenge concluded the tournament.

The winners in the 10 divisions were:

- Class A Small: Bismarck High.

- Class A Large: Fargo South.

- Class B: Bishop Ryan.

- Class A JV: Grand Forks Red River.

- Class A Stunt: JAKS 4 from Grand Forks Central.

- Class B Stunt: Rugby.

- Class A JV Stunt: GFC Greats from Grand Forks Central.

- Class A Jump Off: Joslin Seidel, Bismarck.

- Class A JV Jump Off: Heather Anderson, Fargo South.

- Class B Jump Off: Katelyn Berube, Rugby.

Sixth Annual NCHSAA Invitational Cheerleading Championship set for Saturday

The sixth annual North Carolina High School Athletic Association state invitational cheerleading championships are scheduled for the brand new Raleigh Convention Center on Saturday.

A record number of over 150 teams have already registered for the event, including almost 2,000 cheerleaders.

Competition will be held in 11 different categories. The doors open at 7:30 am and competition will begin at nine o’clock Saturday morning.

Wilson cheerleaders defend district title

On a day when all five Shenandoah District cheerleading competition squads brought their ‘A’ game, Wilson Memorial was able to defend its championship Saturday night at Riverheads High School.

It was quite a night for the Hobson sisters.

Literally seconds after Green Hornet senior April Hobson was named district cheerleader of the year, her sister Jennifer Hobson was named district coach of the year.

Moore Cheerleading Squad Earns Honor At Competition

The Moore Middle School Competition team won the highest possible honor at the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader contest Sunday, Oct. 12 at Texas Stadium.

The cheerleaders earned the high point award for the grand championship, beating out 22 other teams which included high school squads as well as all star teams. The cheerleaders also placed first in the middle school division, as well as the high point award above all school teams.
