Parkside cheerleaders take on the Worlds

Dedication and love of the sport is what it takes to commit six to 10 hours a week to practice for a team over two hours away, but for competitive cheerleaders Kristen Morris and Chelsea Lahey it’s also about the team.

The next competition for the girls is Worlds, the best of the best. There are teams from across the globe competing for that one title. Lahey and Morris have been practicing with the Twisters nonstop for Worlds and feel like they are ready to take over Orlando.

“We practice like no other team, we condition each practice with a 2-mile run and focus on our goal,” Lahey said. “It’s a great place to meet people from around the world, but we know everyone wants a Worlds ring.”
