What to Expect at a College Cheerleading Tryout
Buck Dossey with Cheer In College has written a blog post on how the University of Texas cheerleading program tryouts were run.
At UT-Austin, the whole concept behind cheer tryouts was to bring potential recruits in and have them essentially join the squad for a day. This pretty much means that candidates attend practice as if they were a part of the squad. During this time, the head coach would watch and evaluate each person, including those who were currently on the squad.
