2025 UTME Registration Delayed: New Start Date Announced

By DAYO ADESULU

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially announced a new start date for the registration of the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). Registration will now begin on Monday, February 3, 2025, moving from the previously scheduled date of Friday, January 31, 2025.

This adjustment is crucial as JAMB implements necessary changes to its registration templates. The decision comes amidst recent developments surrounding the suspension of certain law programs at select universities, as reported by the Council for Legal Education. Additionally, JAMB has identified issues concerning the approval of some Computer-Based Test (CBT) centers that employed misleading practices, prompting the need for further examination and the disapproval of certain facilities.

JAMB recognizes that this change may disrupt the plans of prospective candidates and other stakeholders. The Board extends its sincere apologies for any inconvenience this may cause. The extra time allocated before the new registration date will be utilized to ensure that all necessary adjustments are made, facilitating a seamless registration experience for all participants.

Dr. Fabian Benjamin, Public Communications Advisor for JAMB, emphasizes the Board’s commitment to maintaining high standards in the registration process and ensuring fair access to the examination for all candidates.

As the new registration date approaches, candidates are encouraged to stay informed and prepare for the upcoming UTME, ensuring they meet all requirements for a successful application.
