Gunmen Supposedly Kill Five Soldiers And A Civilian In Anambra

GUNMEN attacks Anambra State

Anambra state’s Orumba South Local Government Area was the target of a gunman’s attack on Wednesday afternoon, during which five soldiers and an unidentified civilian were purportedly slain.

An eyewitness reported that the event took place in Umunze in front of Zenith Bank.

According to the source, the incident took place between 1:00 and 2:00 pm. The soldiers were reportedly being attacked while riding in a Sienna car.

When contacted, Ikenga Tochukwu, the spokesman for the Anambra Police Command, stated that he was unable to confirm whether any troops had been killed and could only confirm that there had been a shooting at Orumba.

He said he could only speak for the police, not the military, and that was all.

I am unable to confirm whether soldiers were killed, but I can affirm that shots were fired along Umunze Road in the direction of Zenith Bank, he said.

Ikenga added that the command has sent out its soldiers to uphold law and order in the region. He added that the incident’s specifics had not yet been discovered, saying that it occurred between 12 and 1.30 p.m.
