APC: Adamu didn’t send Tinubu a protest letter

APC (The All Progressives Congress) national leadership has claimed that Abdullahi Adamu, the party’s national chairman, did not ask Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the party’s presidential candidate, to revoke the list of the Presidential Campaign Council.
James Faleke, the campaign council’s secretary, published a list of the party’s presidential campaign committee’s 422 members on Friday of last week, with President Muhammadu Buhari serving as the group’s chairman.
The list, according to a letter allegedly signed by the APC National Chairman, was not accepted by the NWC and should be withdrawn.
The APC National Publicity Secretary, Barrister Felix Morka, responded in a statement on Thursday, saying the party was unified.
“Our attention has been drawn to a ‘draft’ letter in circulation allegedly written by His Excellency, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, the National Chairman of our great party, addressed to His Excellency, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the presidential candidate of our great party, expressing displeasure over the recently released list of the Presidential Campaign Council,” the statement reads (PCC).
To be clear, the party did not write the “draft” letter. Unsigned letters that identify themselves as “drafts” cannot and shouldn’t have their purported author’s name attached to them.

The National Chairman of our party and our presidential candidate keep friendly and productive lines of communication open, and they are free to have frank and open discussions about topics that are important to the party and our presidential campaign. As a result, an unsigned “draft” letter of the type that is now in circulation is obviously useless and adds nothing of substance to the interaction between the party and the PCC.
“We won’t be sidetracked by the intentions and deeds of critics who eagerly watch for a conflict between the Party and the PCC but in vain. As a party, we are unified in our determination and commitment to carry out a targeted and issue-driven campaign to encourage Nigerians to extend our mandate in the general election next year.
