No fewer than 400 bandits operating in Ondo State have been arrested by the state’s security outfit codenamed Amotekun.
Chief Adetunji Adeleye, the state commander of Amotekun security corps, disclosed this in Akure, the state capital.
He said “We started from the state capital and combed all the black spots and made over 400 arrests before we headed to the local government areas and concentrated on the Northern Senatorial District where we embarked on 24 hours patrol
“We engaged the services of local hunters and vigilante to join our men and patrol the forest.

Adeleye said that “We have put out searchlight and we have mapped out security strategies to checkmate the activities of those bad people.
“Ose local government area has a boundary with Edo and Kogi States and it offers easy to access way out. But we are checking them.
Adeleye noted that the directive of the Ondo State governor that all local government chairmen should set up a vigilante system has been yielding results.”
He added that some local governments in the state have started working and compiling names, adding that the government wants them to bring up their vigilantes under Amotekun for supervision.
