Buhari, Atiku Mourn Late Alao-Akala

President Muhammadu Buhari has condoled with the Alao-Akala family, the government and people of Oyo State on the passing of a former governor of the State, Otunba Christopher Alao-Akala.

The President, in a statement issued Wednesday by his spokesman, Femi Adesina, said the former police officer and civilian governor with an extensive political career served the country and the people of Oyo State with dedication by making very important contributions to the development of institutions and communities.

Buhari expressed hope that family, friends and associates who mourned the late Governor would honour his vision of entrenching good governance in the country and passion to lift the downtrodden in the society.

The President prayed God almighty to grant the departed eternal rest and comfort those who mourned.

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, while reacting in a press release by his media office on Wednesday said that the death of the former Oyo State governor came as a ‘rude shock.’

The Waziri of Adamawa said Alao-Akala was a prolific politician whose records of achievement as governor in Oyo State remained enviable.

The former vice president, who condoled with the people and government of Oyo State for the loss of a notable leader, urged family and associates of the late Alao-Akala to take solace in the good legacies that he left behind.
