Cynthia Okereke, a seasoned actress, is rumoured to have passed away, bringing yet another tragic event to Nigeria’s Nollywood.
Her coworker Joseph Okechukwu shared the news of her passing on Wednesday in a post to his verified Twitter account.
Rest in Peace, Nwanyi oma,” Okechukwu posted with a picture of the actress. I’m beyond words broken. One of the hardest things I’ve recently had to cope with was hearing that you went to be with the Lord only last night as I was about to pay for your travel ticket to come finish what we started.
“I pray I’m able to recover from this shock. Life is really just a mist. One minute you have it, the next you don’t. For the more than 20 years that I’ve known you, you’ve been such an amazing, decent and lovely soul to be around.
“I never imagined you’d exit so unceremoniously. Words fail me. Sleep on, Cynthia. May your gentle soul rest on till we meet again in glory.”

Okereke and fellow actor Clemson Cornel were abducted in Enugu last year, but their captors ultimately released them unharmed days after they had been reported missing.
Okereke’s death is the most recent in a string of recent celebrity deaths in the movie business. Some of the well-known figures who recently passed away are Saint Obi, Don Brymo, Murphy Afolabi, Femi Ogunrobi (Papa Ajasco), and Chikezie Uwazie.
