President Muhammadu Buhari has said that the greatest challenge confronting the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) is terrorism.
Buhari made this statement before ECOWAS Heads of State during its 56th Ordinary Session held in Abuja.
President Buhari also lamented the recent killing of about 70 military personnel by terrorists in neighbouring Niger Republic.
”Buhari said commitment to developing initiatives for inclusive economic growth among ECOWAS Nations is key.
President, ECOWAS commission, Jean-claude Kassi Brou, Chairman of Authority and President of Niger Republic Issoufou Mahamadou were present.
Former Head of State, Yakubu Gowon, President, AfDB, Akinwunmi Adesina and Representative of UN Secretary-General, Mohamed Chambas also attended.
