Eid-el Kabir Sallah: Look Out For New Moon Tuesday – Sultan Abubakar

As Muslim across the world expects the date for  Eid-el Kabir Sallah festivity, Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar has tasked Muslims across the country to look out for the new moon on Tuesday, July 21, 2020.

According to him, the new moon of Zulhijja 1441 which is equivalent to 29th day of Zulki’ida 1441 AH, will signify the Eid-el Kabir Sallah festivity after the observance of the Mount Arafat religious right.

Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, in a statement, Monday by the Chairman, Advisory Committee on Religious Affairs, Prof. Sambo Wali Junaidu, the Wazirin Sokoto called on Muslims to report the sighting of the new moon to the nearest District or Village Head for onward communication to the Sultan.

He said: “Muslims are therefore requested to start looking for the new moon of Zulhijja1441 AH on Tuesday and report its sighting to the nearest District or Village Head for onward communication to His Eminence, Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, the Sultan of Sokoto.”
