Ex- Ambassador Cautions Buhari Against 2014 Confab Reports

member of the Peoples Democratic Party in Gombe State, faulted the voting pattern that was used in adopting resolutions during the confab.

He was a representative of Gombe State during the 2014 National Conference which was organised during the administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan.

Abdullahi said, “The last one (2014 National Conference) was more of a fiasco because it was pre-arranged. Apparently the government wanted certain things and they had the support of the leadership of the conference, from the chairman, secretary and so on.

“I must say openly that the report was not what the conference wanted. Instead, it concluded what the government wanted. The voting pattern was not fair.”

The elder statesman stated further that the conference was the third he had attended, adding that the two earlier ones were more impressive.

“There was a clique that was pushing for the report. It will kill Nigeria if you (President Buhari) implement it. If you force it on the people it will be unfortunate. The voting was not fair. Someone somewhere just sat down and allotted the number of seats without considering the differences,” he added.
