- Warning Against Informants
Matawale delivered a stern warning to village residents against acting as informants for bandits, equating such actions to the same crimes committed by the bandits themselves. - Firm Stance on Informants
The minister declared a zero-tolerance policy towards informants, stating, “The government is not ready to take it lightly with any informants. Such persons, if caught, will be given the same treatment as bandits.” This strong stance aims to deter individuals from collaborating with criminal elements that threaten community safety.
- Commendation for Operation Hadarin Daji Troops
In a show of support for the military, Matawale commended the troops of Operation Hadarin Daji for their ongoing efforts in combating banditry in Sokoto State. While addressing the troops at their camp in Tara, a community within the Sabon Birni Local Government Area, he conveyed President Bola Tinubu’s concern for the troops’ welfare and operational effectiveness.
- Commitment to Troop Support and Logistics
Matawale assured the troops that the federal government, in collaboration with the Sokoto state government, would establish a conducive environment for them to perform their duties effectively. He emphasized that all necessary logistics required for their operations would be provided, reinforcing the government’s commitment to supporting its military personnel in the fight against terrorism.
Through these measures, the Federal Government aims to enhance security in Sokoto State and restore peace and economic stability to affected communities.
