‘I accused Jonathan of corruption when he pardoned Alaimesigha’
Tambuwal said, when he was the speaker of the House of Representative, he accused former President, Goodluck Jonathan of corruption.

‘EFCC go after faces they don’t like’
“It’s public knowledge in Nigeria today that the moment you join a particular party, you are free from corruption cases.
“The Fight against corruption in Nigeria cannot be total. When the government agencies assigned to fight corruption take instruction from the executive. If the Federal Government don’t like your face, it sends the EFCC after you.
“Once any politician joins a ruling political, his corruption cases are pardon by the EFCC or ICPC. I don’t think that’s the way to go. “There is a need to stop politicising the fight against corruption but take it headlong. Otherwise, we won’t go anywhere in our fight against corruption.

“We knew what happened here during the election. EFCC was all over the places, arresting people anyhow because they belief that people were buying votes.
“We know the political actors here who used EFCC as part of their campaign to intimidate people. The earlier we realize that we are not doing it right the better for the institutions.
I support constitutional amendment, says Tambuwal
” That is why during my tenure as the speaker, I spoke about it. I’m still ready to support the constitutional amendments that will make our institutions strong.
“There is a need to separate the office of the Minister for Justice from the Attorney General of the federation. The Minister can be a politician while the Attorney General of the Federation should not be a politician.
” We also need to separate the office of the Accountants General and that of the Chief Accountant of the Federation.
“We must go back to the constitution and do the right thing. If not done, we may not get it right,” Tambuwal said.
