Makurdi – Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue state said he has plans to win souls for Christ, even as he plans to reach out to about 2, 300 widows across the state during the Christmas season.
He made this known when the leadership of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) paid them a courtesy call in Makurdi last weekend.
The Governor explained that God dropped in his spirit, plan to save souls for Christ since 2012, a directive he was yet to fulfill.
He also stated that he has disobeyed God severally for not holding the crusade that would lead to the deliverance of souls.
According to Ortom he has repented and asked God to forgive him for disobeying Him, hence his plan to hold crusades in each of the 23 Local Government Area (LGA) headquarters in the state to save souls for Christ, in conjunction with the leadership of PFN.
The Governor directed the LGA Chairmen and Coordinators of PFN to select 100 widows from each of the 23 LGAs of the state, whom he intends to reach out to in order for them to celebrate the Yuletide.
Ortom pledged to donate about 100 bags of rice and 100 bags of cornflour for the widows during the season.
