Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State has said that he became a billionaire at age 25.
Umahi said his wealth was born out of hard and commitment to duty.
Governor Umahi didn’t tell his audience the type of business he did that earned him a billion at 25.
Mr Umahi stated this during his interaction with some leaders of Abakpa main market in Abakaliki.
He debunked the rumour that he has shops at the market.
Umahi said: “I work very hard, I am not a poor person, but a very, very rich person.
“You can’t use the state’s money and still do all these things (projects) we are doing.
“Idon’t have any shop or any interest in the market.”
Ebonyi people should tell us whether Umahi declared his asset before he became governor of the state.
If Umahi indeed declared his asset, Ebonyi people should compelled him to make it public.
And if Umahi has not declared his asset, he should be asked to do so immediately.
The EFCC can still investigate David Umahi as a governor without prosecuting him.
