Commercial motorcycle use is prohibited in the Okitipupa Local Government Area of Ondo State between the hours of 6:00 pm and 6:00 am.
The decision to increase security in the area was announced to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday in Okitipupa by Mr Akinrinwa Igbekele, Chairman, Okitipupa LGA.
In order to combat the problems of kidnapping, robbery, and other vices in the state, he said it was a proactive action.

Igbekele said that a monitoring squad had been sent out to seize any illegally operating motorcycles.
“Although we have not seen insecurity here, we have seen it in other parts of the state. Despite this, we should not sit idly by.
Igbekele stated, “We prohibited Okada from 6:00 pm to 6:00 am as a preventative precaution to eradicate any vices and instability here.”
Igbekele asserted that the council was working with all security organizations to swiftly address any security violation.
