By DAYO ADESULU

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has made a crucial announcement regarding the admissions process for the Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) programme across various Nigerian universities.

Dr. Fabian Benjamin, JAMB’s Public Communications Advisor, revealed this information in a statement to TheCheer News on Wednesday.

In accordance with the Council of Legal Education (CLE), the following universities will not offer law programmes for the 2025/2026 academic session:

– Kwara State University, Malete, Ilorin, Kwara State

– Bingham University, Karu, Nasarawa State

– Redeemers University, Ede, Osun State

– Western Delta University, Oghara, Delta State

– Taraba State University, Jalingo, Taraba State

– Arthur Jarvis University, Akpabuyo, Cross River State

– Alex Ekwueme Federal University, Ndufu-Alike, Ebonyi State

– Nigerian Police Academy, Wudil, Kano State

Notably, the suspension at the Nigerian Police Academy will extend for two academic years, impacting both the 2025/2026 and 2026/2027 sessions.

As a result, JAMB will not permit admissions for candidates wishing to pursue the Law programme at these institutions during the designated academic period. Additionally, the ban on registration for the Law programme at the Nigerian Police Academy will remain in place for the subsequent academic session.

Benjamin emphasized that this decision is intended to maintain the quality of legal education in Nigeria and ensure that students receive the necessary training for their future legal careers.
