Eventually, the 19-year-old embattled 2023 Jamb candidate, Miss Mmesoma Ejikeme has confessed the truth to the panel set up by the Anambra state government to investigate whether or not she falsified her UTME results as alleged.

Surprisingly, the girl who many claimed was innocent of the allegations admitted to it before the professors in the panel that she did the manipulation to upgrade her score to 362 through her Airtel line and phone without the aid of anybody.

The Anambra State Government  committee comprises Prof. Nkemdili Nnonyelu as Chairman, other members are Prof. Mercy Okonkwo, Prof. Ngozi Chuma-Udeh, Prof. Maduabuchi Dukor, Prof. Jaja Nwanegbo, Rev. Sr. Prof. Mary-Felicia Opara, Rev. Cannon Dr. Uchenna Umeifekwem, Mr. Chukwuemeka Fred Agbata Managing Director, Anambra Information Communication Technology Agency.

Subsequently, the Anambra State Panel, has mandated her to make a written apology to  the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) and serve the consequences of her fraudulent actions.

The Panel of professors also recommended that Mmesoma Ejikeme should undergo psychological counselling due to the circumstances that surrounded the episode.

The committee in making its three-point recommendations found out that Mmesoma on her own manipulated the original result she got.

The committee which interacted with Ejikeme Mmesoma, authorities of her school, and JAMB in its findings deposed that the result paraded by Ejikeme Mmesoma with an aggregate score of 362 was fake and that she admitted manipulating the results by herself using her phone.

According to an obtained report:
“She owned up in the presence of her principal, and the Education Secretary that the narration by the JAMB officials was a true and correct description of what transpired.

She also admitted to have given a manipulated result by herself, unaided using the same phone (and) Airtel Number.

“According to her, she proceeded to the cybercafe (Prisca Global Computers, Uruagu, Nnewi) where she printed the results she had manipulated.”

“The committee tried to find out the motive behind her actions, but Ejikeme Joy Mmesoma said nothing.”

Mmesoma had put the reputation of JAMB in suspense after she claimed to have scored 362 and been the highest-scoring candidate in the 2023 UTME.

The Anambra State Government is, however, yet to release a white paper on the issue and the fate of Ejikeme Mmesoma now hangs in the balance following the ban on her by JAMB from partaking in the UTME for three years.
