Kidnapped DPO Regains Freedom After 5-Day

The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Fugar, Etsako Central Local Government Area of Edo State, CSP Ibrahim Ishaq, has been released by his abductors.
The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) was kidnapped on November 27, 2021.
He was said to have been released on Thursday night.
His abductors had demanded a ransom of N50 million before releasing the DPO.
Ishaq was allegedly kidnapped while driving his private vehicle along the old Auchi-Ekperi- Agenebode road by gunmen suspected to be kidnappers.
He was said to be driving alongside his orderly when gunmen accosted his vehicle around Ise River while his orderly escape.
The state command spokesperson, Kongtons Bello, who confirmed the release of the DPO, declined comments on whether ransom was paid or not.
He said, “I can confirm that the DPO of Fugar has been freed by the command operatives from the kidnappers’ den.”
