Lagos Preparatory & Secondary School (LPSS)is pleased to present the final IGCSE results for their pioneer Year, 11 students. The school achieved a 100% pass across all subjects. The students in Year 10 students also attempted one English paper this year and also achieved a 100% pass rate.
LPSS, formerly known as Lagos Preparatory School (LPS) changed its name to reflect the full range of its provision. The school admits children from 18months (Pre-Nursery) to 16 years (Year 11) and the graduating students sit IGCSE Examinations (the British Equivalent of the West African Senior Secondary Examination Certificate). This year, the first set of Year 11 students sat the exams and the results were outstanding.
The graduating Year 11 students had sat the Year 10 English IGCSE exam last year and they attained A*, A and B grades. The lowest recorded score last year was 72% so it is no surprise that they have followed suit in this year’s examination. With the similarly excellent results of the current Year 10 students, the school looks forward to more outstanding results in the coming years.
Students in Year 6 at LPSS usually sit the UK SATS exams to culminate the end of their primary education. Each year, they consistently experience 90-100% pass in English and 80-90% pass in Mathematics. This year, the school is unable to publish the results as the exams were affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Mags Saba, the Head of Secondary, Teaching and Learning at LPSS said, ‘the school is exceedingly pleased with our graduating students and what they have been able to achieve this year. Despite the challenges brought about by the pandemic, their hard work over the years has paid off and we are extremely proud of them. The school wishes them the very best in all their future endeavours’.
LPSS is a day school in Ikoyi and is currently adopting measures to keep students and staff safe in a COVID world. Subject to Lagos State guidelines on re-opening of schools, LPSS is now equipped to offer blended learning (online and in-class) from next term, allowing some students to continue learning from their remote locations until January 2021 at the earliest. The school looks forward to welcoming more secondary pupils next month.
