Nigeria and South Africa have agreed on issuing 10-year visas to businessmen, academics and frequent travellers.
South Africa and Nigeria arrived at the decision, following the successful conclusion of the 9th Bi-National Commission. The 9th Bi-National Commission of South Africa and Nigeria meeting took place in Pretoria, South Africa.
Garuba Shehu, SSA to Buhari said: ”President Buhari and President Cyril Ramaphosa of South Africa co-chaired the agreement meeting.
Shehu said this was the first time Buhari and Ramaphosa will preside since the Bi-National Commission was elevated.
Mr Shehu added that Buhari and Ramaphosa took the 10-years visa agreement to encourage more people-to-people contacts among citizens.
Mr Shehu also said both countries believe that the 10-years visa would further strengthen socio-cultural, economic and political relations.

President Buhari and President Ramaphosa have agreed on early warning signals to nip violence in the bud before it escalates.
He said Buhari and Ramaphosa had taken into consideration the need to share more intelligence and promote stronger partnership.
”Nigeria and South Africa also agreed to re-establish the consular forum to serve as a structured arrangement between countries. Both governments will meet regularly, at least twice in a year, to discuss the welfare of citizens,” Shehu said.
Nigerian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama and South African Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Dr Naledi Pandor, signed the minutes of the 9th session of Bi-National Commission.
