Scammers are using the official portrait of the COAS as their profile picture while engaging unsuspecting individuals in online meetings via Zoom, WhatsApp, and Facebook.
Modus Operandi of the Fraudsters:
Fixing fake virtual meetings under the guise of official Army engagements
Requesting participants to share numbers displayed on their screens
Individually engaging participants and defrauding them

Do not share personal information or numbers requested during such meetings
Report suspicious activities to the Nigerian Army via the toll-free call center number: 193
Major General Onyema Nwachukwu, Director of Army Public Relations, emphasized that the Army has well-established communication protocols that do not involve social media meetings with the public.
