Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, responded to Governor Charles Soludo’s strongly written letter about his 2023 goal.
The letter, which was made public on Monday afternoon, erupted online.
In the 4008-word essay, Soludo labelled Obi, one of his predecessors, as a joker in the 2023 election, claiming that he would merely sap support from former vice-president Atiku Abubakar’s Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and increase the prospects of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu’s All Progressives Congress (APC).
The governor cited Obi’s several departures from the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) for the PDP and Labour Party, which he referred to as a “transit camp” for candidates who lost primaries, and claimed that Obi knows he cannot win.
Additionally, Soludo insulted Obi’s fans, referring to them as a “social media mob.”
Peter Obi stated Soludo is still his brother while speaking to the Lagos Business School alumni association at an event on Tuesday.
One of the interaction forums allowing political office hopefuls to answer questions and express their vision for the nation is the LBS Alumni Day themed, “The Leadership Imperative.”

“When you divide your investment, part of it will increase and some of it will decrease. Overall nevertheless, the business is still operating. The business continues to prosper. It continues to be a part of a worldwide network in every way. I felt the need to clarify, not to defend my brother’s comments.
“My brother is a brother and remains my brother. We’re very close. I remain prayerful for him. Of other things which I didn’t succeed, God has given him the opportunity to do it and succeed.
“For me…if there is anything pending, governance, governance you don’t finish. People are still in government in America. So, you stop where you stop. Other people will continue from there. I don’t look back. He is the governor of my state. He is my senior brother. He is even more intelligent than I am. He is a professor and I am a trader. He knows more. So, he will be able to do this better than I’m doing it. I have done my little work as a trader. Now the professor is there, he will do his own thing as a professor. The schools that I didn’t roof, you roof them. That’s our government goes,” the LP presidential candidate said.
