Executive Branch Insists That Buhari Supports Tinubu’s Presidential Bid

BUHARI AND BUHARI

The presidency harshly criticized Tanko Yakasai, a senior statesman and human rights activist from Kano, on Wednesday for “questioning the allegiance” of President Muhammadu Buhari in relation to his support for Bola Tinubu, the APC’s presidential candidate.

This was confirmed to be genuine because Yakasai’s previous accusations that Buhari wasn’t endorsing the APC nominee contradicted the President’s recent presence at party campaign rallies.

The consequence, the president’s “support for the party’s candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, is indisputable.”

In a statement titled “On Alhaji Tanko Yakasai’s Questioning of the President’s Support for the APC at the Coming Election,” Garba Shehu, Buhari’s Senior Special Assistant for Media and Publicity, offered this information.

The consequence of the president’s “support for the party’s candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, is indisputable.”

Shehu said in the statement that Alhaji Tanko Yakasai was unknown to the APC. While everyone is entitled to their own thoughts, we do know that the man just gave an interview that provided certain information that neither the president’s administration nor the party had access to.

Although his support for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is greatly appreciated, it is unclear what benefit it will bring.

He is right to underline that important prerequisites for holding the highest post are leadership in the administration and the ability to build bridges.

But Yakasai’s criticism of President Muhammadu Buhari’s allegiance stands in stark contrast to the President’s actions. He just went to a gathering in Bauchi to support the party’s standard bearer.

In anticipation of presidential responsibilities, he has further campaign stops planned for the next few weeks.

Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the party’s nominee, has his undying support.

Yakassai’s comments shouldn’t be taken seriously, the Presidency advised Nigerians, saying, “Perhaps the old man needs a little help because things are harsh.”

If this hadn’t been broadcast on TV, Yakasai’s stupid statement would have been brushed aside as a misquotation. He was, however, seen live on television.
