Senior Advocate of Nigeria, SAN, Ebun-Olu Adegboruwa has said that the national curfew from 8 pm to 6 am declared by President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday will not work in Lagos because of its peculiar nature of daily traffic jamb which compels many people to stay hours on roads to 12 midnight.
Buhari, had on Monday announced a relaxation of the lockdown in Lagos Ogun and Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, imposed curfew nationwide curfew as from 8:00 p.m. to 6.00 am effective May 4; ban non-essential inter-state movement; maintain restriction on religious and social gatherings amongst other measures.
In his reaction, Adegboruwa said: ”People are usually up and on the road by 4 am from the Mainland and from Ogun State to the Island and them close and stay in traffic till midnight.
”Most of the time with interstate lockdown and night curfew, most people working in Lagos from Ogun and Oyo States cannot meet up.

”The President should have consulted with the Governors of these States.”
Adegboruwa advised the President to liaise with the National Assembly, which is now resuming, to come up with a law on COVID-19 in order to harmonize all COVID 19 regulations, to avoid the prevailing confusion across the land as a matter of urgency.
