TASCE Lecturers Deny Kidnapping, Robbery Allegation

The five Tai Solarin College Of Education (TASCE), Lecturers who were alleged of kidnapping and robbery have debunked the claims. They said it was a fabricated social media allegation aimed at robbing the institution.

Recall that the five lecturers were arraigned at the Magistrate Court at Isabo for allegedly kidnapping and robbery and were subsequently granted bail.

They have refuted the allegation after their bail and described the allegation as mischievous and false.

One of the alleged lecturers, Mr. Daniel Aborisade stated dismissed the claim while addressing newsmen at Isabo, High Court, Abeokuta, after his bail.

He accused the government of trying to silent them over their demand for 56 months salaries, deductions, leave bonuses and other benefits is owing them.

He explained that the struggle for their money had been on the front burner since the administration of Senator Ibikunle Amosun.

He said: ”After the assumption of office by the present administration of Governor Dapo Abiodun, he promised to pay all their salaries and other arrears.

Thus, a visitation panel was constituted headed by Professor Kamaldeen Balogun, and all the recommendation of the report were not even implemented by the government. The neglect aggravated the plights of the Lecturers and crisis of the college.

“Indeed, it is a laughable to be alleging us of kidnapping and robbery. We are all lecturers of higher institution which even has to do with teachers and pupils, and how can we engage in kidnapping and robbery? All the allegations leveled against us are  purely malicious, and misguided information. It aimed at discrediting us and tarnish our image.”

He alleged that the Provost of the College, Dr. Lukman Adeola Kiadese had connived .with the state government to subvert the truth of their agitations.

The connivance has resorted into the maiming and molestation of lecturers and other workers on campus. He said none of their members ever contemplated kidnapping or robbing anyone, despite that they have not been paid for 56 months.

In a press statement, Aborisade said: “Our attentions has been drawn to a reports trending on social media that some TASCE Lecturers were arraigned before the magistrate Court, Isabo, Abeokuta, for alleged kidnapping and robbery.

”I am telling the whole world that, it is masterminded by the government paid social media dogs which has no means of livelihood except maligning and discrediting people on social media through their paid masters. ”We are nation’s builders and role model. How can we kidnap and rob? ”

I was invited to the Governor’s office in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, on the instruction of one the Governor’s errand Boy, Mr. Lamide Lawal in order to meet with the S.A on Education and other government functionaries.

According to the government, the reason for the meeting was to find a lasting solution to the lingering crisis in the institution.

I was ushered into the office of the governor. Immediately the Chief Security Officer to the governor, (CSO) saw me, he ordered my arrest and moved him to the Ogun State Force Headquarter, Eleweeran, Abeokuta.’

‘I challenge those accusing us of kidnapping to come out from their hiding and produce we attempting to have kidnap or robbed.

“We are not perturbed by these malicious false statements trending on social media. If truly we are kidnappers, we wouldn’t have been granted bail and nobody was going to be our sureties.”
