TCN (Transmission Company of Nigeria) has affirmed that the national grid that partially collapsed on Monday has been repaired.
TCN General Manager of Public Affairs, Mrs Ndidi Mbah released this information in a statement in Abuja.
According to Mbah, a significant dip in system frequency that led to system instability caused a partial system disturbance in the national grid at around 10.51 am.
She said that at 11.55 am, Osogbo/Ihovbor was the first segment of the damaged grid to be restored, followed by Jebba/Osogbo, Kainji/Jebba, Benin/Onitsha, Shiroro/Kaduna, Shiroro/Katampe, and Alaoji/Ikot-Ekpene.

Others are Benin/Omotosho, Oke-Aro/Ikeja west, Egbin/Oke-Aro, Lokoja/Gwagwalada, Odukpani/Ikot Ekpene, Kaduna/Kano, and Oke-Aro/Ikeja east.
The Nigerian Electricity Supply Industry (NESI), she added, regrets any inconveniences caused and that the grid restoration is almost complete.
NESI is determined to make the most of the coordinated efforts already put in place to improve power supply reliability in order to quickly put a stop to the problem of the system disturbance.
Since this unwholesome event caused aggregate generation loss, she said the National Control Center will undertake a thorough inquiry “to determine and ascertain the origin of the partial disturbance.”
