Terrorists Abduct 5 Factory Workers In Nigeria

Terrorists on Sunday night stormed Tegina in Rafi Local Government Area of Niger State and abducted five persons in a factory.

Bandits had abducted pupils of an Islamiyya school in Tegina earlier in the year.

Sources told Daily Trust that gunmen returned to the community this weekend and abducted five factory workers.

The bandits numbering about 10 were said to be armed with AK47.

The source said invaded the town at about 9 pm on Saturday and went to a sachet water factory adjacent to Government Girls’ Secondary School in the community.

“They caught us unawares because they came on foot. We just started hearing gunshots and we ran for our lives. They went to the sachet water factory where five persons were taken away,” one of the sources said.

When contacted, the Niger State Police Command Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Wasiu Abiodun, said he was in a meeting.

He promised to respond later but had not done so as of the time of filing this report.
