Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s (LP) Presidential Candidate for the February 25, 2023, election, has met with various local and foreign stakeholders as part of the ongoing consultations over the disputed poll results.
Many believe that the high-profile figures who have been meeting with him are emissaries of forces that want him to drop his case against the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) declaration of the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, as election winner.
Several tweets from supporters of the former Anambra State Governor, however, say that he no longer has the luxury of making such unilateral decisions because those who voted for him, particularly the youths who believe they were the ones contesting the election, believe they were the ones contesting the election.
In a tweet, Mr. Obi, who has had several other such high-level meetings recently said: “As part of ongoing election-related consultations, I met with the head of African Union Observer team, President Uhuru Kenyatta, and the head of ECOWAS Observer team, President Ernest Bai Koroma. -PO.”
It is apparent that the consultations will still continue.
