U.S Will Be Surprised If India Denies America Malaria Drug For COVID-19 – Trump

<> on June 26, 2017 in Washington, DC.

President Donald Trump of the United States of America has said that due to the cordial relationship between his country and India, he would rather be surprised if India denies U.S export of Hydroxychloroquine.

Trump believes that Hydroxychloroquine, an anti-malarial drug is a “game-changer” in the battle against coronavirus in the U.S.

The United States has lost over 10,000 people to the deadly coronavirus.

Speaking to journalists at the White House, Trump said he would be “surprised” if India turns down Washington’s request, more so because both countries share amicable relations.

Recall that India is one of the largest manufacturers of Hydroxychloroquine and recently it banned its export, along with other key drugs.

The idea is to have enough in stock for domestic use even as its efficacy in battling COVID-19 is being judged. Hydroxychloroquine was put under blanket ban disallowing its export even on humanitarian grounds.
