A knife-wielding man who stabbed two people at police headquarters in central Paris on Thursday has been shot dead, sources told AFP.
The man, who worked as an employee at the police headquarters, was shot by police in the courtyard of the building situated near Notre-Dame cathedral, the sources said.
Paris (CNN) — An individual armed with a knife attacked officers inside police headquarters in Paris on Thursday and was shot dead, a police source told CNN.
One police officer was killed and another seriously injured, the source said. There is no indication of a motive yet.
The station is located near Notre Dame Cathedral on the Île de la Cité, an island in the center of Paris. The island is on lockdown, with roads cordoned off by police and firemen and ambulances on the scene.
