Xenophobia: Protesters Begin Stop and Search in Abuja

NEW twist has been introduced into the ongoing protest in Abuja against Xenophobic attacks in South Africa, as protesters have resulted into stop and search of South Africans and government officials along Air-Port Road before descending on them heavily.

As early as 6:30 a.m, protesters in their hundreds were said to have assembled at the Federal Housing junction and set the MTN banner ablaze before marching to the Shoprite and removed all the iron protectors within the complex.

The ever-busy Air-Port road was barricaded for almost one hour as protesters were insisting on burning down the structure (Shoprite). Immediate intervention of security operative, however, save it

Normalcy is, however, gradually returning to the scene as police personnel were appealing to the protesters to suspend their protest.
